The celebration of the founding of the Colony of Georgia has been a tradition among Georgians for centuries. The Georgia Historical Society annually recognizes this important anniversary by promoting the study and preservation of our state’s rich history and the historical sites, documents, and other materials that offer a window on that past. Their two-week celebration includes a variety of fun and educational events such as a kick-off celebration, Colonial Faire & Muster, a Super Museum Sunday, a Georgia Day Parade and a Closing Gala. Georgia Days 2009 is sponsored by Southern LNG/El Paso.
