Psychotronic Film Night: A Telly Savalas Tribute

We salute the iconic, bald actor TELLY SAVALAS, known best for his starring role in TV’s Kojak detective series, as well as the war film Kelly’s Heroes.

Join us on the 19th anniversary of his death with a screening of an obscure and bizarre thriller that is directed by the legendary Italian master of suspense and horror, Mario Bava. Mario Bava is also the visionary behind such cult gems as, Kill Baby KillBlack SundayPlanet of the Vampires, The Whip and The Body. This film was edited/changed drastically without Bava’s input three years after he finished the picture, and released it in the United States of America in 1975, under the crass and misleading title The House of Exorcism. This was done as a way of trying to cash in on the success of The Exorcist.

We are proud to show the long-rumored, ultra-rare, uncensored Italian version, which has been fully restored to Bava’s original intentions. It’s a haunting, dreamlike and bizarre piece of psychological terror.

The Plot:

Lisa, played by the beautiful Elke Sommer, is a tourist in an ancient Spanish city. When she gets lost, she finds an old mansion in which to shelter. Soon she is sucked into a vortex of deception, debauchery and evil presided over by a strange housekeeper, played by Savalas.

Please join us for this creepy and bizarre cult film that is virtually unknown in its original form here in the United States of America.

Seating is at 7:30 p.m.. and the show starts at 8:00 p.m..

There will be award-winning Organic Vegetarian food and Fair-Trade coffees and teas, plus Micro-Brew Beers and Wines Available.
